possibly the most unique eulogy ever, very sweet

I don’t mean this to sound as maudlin as it will sound. But as the time draws closer, one wonders how people who know you might feel in the days after you’re gone. I live alone, so there won’t be touching sentiments like this woman feels, but I think everybody would like to think they’ll be missed by someone, that your passing would leave a bit of a hole in the fabric of their life somewhere.

An acquaintance who has what I have, puimonary fibrosis, asked Hospice to come and chat with her and her family this week. Not that she’s necessarily there yet but she’s getting very close, and she wants to know what they will do, and what they won’t, and if there are any preparations she should be making in advance of their coming in. It’s good to know those things I guess, but the word Hospice has such a final ring to it. And it starts one to wondering about things, like whether someone will miss you.
